FlexCrash project celebrates its first year in Fraunhofer IWS facilities in Dresden

Project partners from Eurecat, the FlexCrash coordinator, and Gestamp attended the webinar “The Circular Metal for Future Mobility: aluminium for lightweight and sustainability”, organised by the SALEMA project last 6th of October.
Eurecat, the FlexCrash project coordinator, participated in ExpoBages, a multisectoral fair of reference in the region, which took place from 19th – 21st of May 2023 in Manresa (Barcelona, Spain).
Alessio Gambi, senior lecturer and project partner from the IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems, presented the project during the Forschungsforum 2023, the research forum of Austrian universities focused on applied sciences topics, celebrated from 19th – 20th of April in St. Pölten (Austria).
Researchers from the IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems are working on the FlexCrash project to develop realistic crash scenarios and simulations of future traffic situations involving autonomous vehicles and human drivers. In the initial phase, driving scenarios extracted from publicly available databases will be fed into the soft-body simulator BeamNG.tech, a driving simulator specialising in realistic car crashes.
FlexCrash partners from Virtual Vehicle Research has hosted the project’s 1st General Assembly on March 1-2 in Graz, Austria.
