Flexcrash project celebrates its first year in Fraunhofer IWS facilities in Dresden
The Flexcrash consortium met to celebrate the 2nd General Assembly on 16 – 17 of October in Fraunhofer IWS facilities located in Dresden (Germany).
The Flexcrash project is focused on the development of a flexible and hybrid manufacturing technology to produce tailored adaptive crash-tolerant structures made of green aluminium alloys.
The project selects vehicle parts and applies surface patterns onto performed parts with the objective to reduce weight, increase safety and optimise crash performance of current and future vehicles.
Flexcrash solutions are to provide a general improvement of car safety with a reduction of risks and fatalities in crashes.
Flexcrash goal is to radically transform the traditional automotive sector and adapt to the extensive agility, versatility and interoperability needs of the upcoming industry.
The Flexcrash consortium met to celebrate the 2nd General Assembly on 16 – 17 of October in Fraunhofer IWS facilities located in Dresden (Germany).
Flexcrash partners from Virtual Vehicle Research has hosted the project’s 1st General Assembly on March 1-2 in Graz, Austria. Representatives from each partner entity have joined the meeting to review the project tasks and actions done during the first 6 months of the project execution and discuss the next steps and activities. The meeting also…
The European Flexcrash project, funded with €4 million by the European Union under its Horizon Europe programme, is to develop flexible and hybrid manufacturing technology using high-strength green aluminium alloys to produce adaptive crash-tolerant vehicle structures.
The Flexcrash project has kicked off on September 2022 with the objective to develop a flexible and hybrid manufacturing technology using aluminium alloys and based on applying surface patterns by additive manufacturing onto preformed parts.
Flexcrash interdisciplinary consortium is made up of 10 partners from 5 different countries with great expertise on manufacturing more sustainable and crash-tolerant vehicles structures.
The project is coordinated by Eurecat Technology Centre.
