The Flexcrash project was showcased at the Materials Science & Technology (MS&T) technical meeting and exhibition celebrated from 6 – 9 October in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Biswajit Dalai, project partner and PhD candidate from Luleå University of Technology, presented the work titled “Microstructure and mechanical analysis of a high pressure die cast recycled AlSi10MnMg(Fe) alloy”, which highlighted some key research and results obtained within Flexcrash.
The scientific work focused on the evolution of microstructure, mechanical properties, and fracture analysis of a high pressure die cast (HPDC) recycled aluminium alloy. This research was done in collaboration with Manel da Silva, project partner from Eurecat, as well as Simon Jonsson, Liang Yu and Jörgen Kajberg, from Luleå University of Technology.
The MS&T technical meeting and exhibition is a long-standing forum recognized for promoting technological innovation at the intersection of materials science, engineering, and practical application. It is organised by The American Ceramic Society (ACerS), the Association for Iron & Steel Technology (AIST), and The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS).
