The FlexCrash project was represented at the 10th International Conference on Hot Sheet Metal Forming of High-Performance Steel (CHS² 2026), held in Plzeň, Czech Republic.
The event brought together leading researchers, industry experts, and practitioners from around the world to exchange knowledge and discuss the latest advances in hot sheet metal forming, high-performance steels, and innovative manufacturing technologies.
Representing the project was Elena López, Head of the Additive Manufacturing Division at Fraunhofer IWS, who presented FlexCrash as a flagship European project driving the development and wider adoption of advanced materials and manufacturing solutions for the next generation of crash-tolerant structures.
The conference provided an excellent platform to showcase the objectives, progress, and technological achievements of the FlexCrash project while engaging with the international community working at the forefront of advanced steel technologies and lightweight design.
CHS² 2026 was organized by Luleå University of Technology, COMTES FHT, and Eurecat Technology Centre.
