Francesco Bruzzo, project partner and associate researcher engineer at Fraunhofer IWS, attended the SALIENT project liaison workshop organized within the European Lightweight Clusters Alliance (ELCA) General Assembly last 5th of December in Stuttgart, Germany.
The workshop was organised as a collaborative forum to unite ELCA members, SALIENT partners and related projects, such as Flexcrash, working to shape the future of the automotive industry. Participants discussed and envisioned a 2050 scenario of the mobility sector with the objective to define a roadmap to tackle the foreseeable challenges and requirements of future vehicles, infrastrctures as well as policies.
Additionally, 3 live podcast sessions were organised to discuss about different aspects and trends of the mobility sector such as lightweight, circularity and digitalisation. The Flexcrash project was represented during the podcast together with other EU-funded projects including SALIENT, AMULET and FLAMINGo.
The SALIENT project, organiser of these events and Flexcrash-sister project, aims at developing novel concepts for safer, lighter, circular and smarter vehicle structure design for enhanced crashworthiness and higher compatibility.
About Flexcrash
Flexcrash project, coordinated by Eurecat, is developing a flexible and hybrid manufacturing technology to enhance weight reduction and crash resistance by locally reinforcing the critical areas for a crash event, creating structures that are safer and lighter compared to current solutions.
