The Flexcrash consortium celebrated its 3rd General Assembly from 3rd – 5th of April at the Luleå University of Technology facilities located in Luleå, Sweden.
During the meeting, partners reviewed the work done, as well as the main goals and advancements achieved, and discussed about the next steps and actions to tackle in the upcoming months of the project to achieve the main objectives of Flexcrash.
Flexcrash first public conference
Additionally, the Flexcrash project took the opportunity to celebrate its first public conference “Shaping the future for a safer and lighter automotive industry”, celebrated as a hybrid format in the Luleå University of Technology and also streamed online.
During the event, participants had the opportunity to learn about cutting-edge approaches and innovative methodologies in lightweight and sustainable materials to be applied n the automotive sector. Flexcrash partners showcased the latest advancements of the project in the field of advanced materials characterisation and optimisation, crash simulation and virtual testing and crash-tolerant structures, among others.
On the other hand, the session included a presentation of the Flexcrash platform, a digital tool enabling regulators, developers, and other parties to study the live interactions between human drivers and AVs in simulated mixed-traffic scenarios.
Additionally, the conference counted on the participation of representatives from SALIENT, SALEMA and FLAMINGo, three European projects working on the development of innovative solutions to promote a lighter, safer and circular automotive industry.
