Eurecat, the Flexcrash coordinator, participated in the conference “EU investments in strategic projects: an outlook from Catalonia”, organised by the Government of Catalonia – Ministry for Foreign Action and European Union in collaboration with the European Commission Representation in Barcelona last 13th of June.
The conference, which took place in the Sant Pau Art Nouveu Site of Barcelona, served as a great platform to present and highlight the contribution of the Catalan industry and innovation ecosystems to the European project, and also to identify and discuss about the main challenges that these sectors face.
During the conference, project materials were distributed, and the animated video was displayed at the Eurecat’s own space located at the exhibition area of the event. Flexcrash was highlighted as one of the centre’s key European projects developing innovative solutions and approaches for the transport, mobility and automotive sector.
The Flexcrash project is developing a flexible and hybrid manufacturing technology to produce tailored adaptive crash-tolerant structures made of green aluminium alloys with the objective to provide a general improvement of car safety while reducing risks and fatalities in crashes.
Additionally, Eurecat presented MARBEL, GuestXR, Sharework and VitiGEOSS, four strategic European projects coordinated by the centre, and the FormPlanet Open Innovation Test Bed.
On the other hand, the event counted on the participation of representatives from the Government of Spain, the Government of Catalonia, the European Green Deal, the Catalan Institute for Energy Research – IREC, Catalonia Hydrogen Valley, Fusion4Energy and EIT Urban Mobility, among others, attended the conference.
