The Flexcrash project was featured at the International Symposium on Software Testing and Analysis (ISSTA), held from 16th – 20th of September in Vienna, Austria. During the Tool Demos 2 session, a paper titled “The Flexcrash Platform for Testing Autonomous Vehicles in Mixed-Traffic Scenarios” was presented, introducing the newly online platform developed by the project.
The Flexcrash platform is designed to support the testing and analysis of autonomous vehicles (AVs) in complex, mixed-traffic environments. It allows regulators, developers, and researchers to observe and study real-time interactions between human drivers and AVs in simulated traffic scenarios, providing a valuable tool for improving AV behaviour and safety in diverse driving conditions.
The paper was authored by Alessio Gambi from the Austrian Institute of Technology, along with Shreya Mathews, Benedikt Steininger, Mykhailo Poienko, and David Bobek from the IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems, member of the project’s consortium.

ISSTA is recognized as the one of the premier conferences for research on software testing and analysis. It serves as a platform where leading academics, industrial researchers, and practitioners gather to exchange innovative ideas, discuss challenges, and share experiences on the testing and analysis of software systems.
